Community colleges take center stage this month as Hispanic Outlook shines a spotlight on the top community colleges in the nation based on total enrollment, and total degrees and certificates granted to Hispanics. Beyond the stats, we’re also diving deeper into what community colleges are doing to be more inclusive including Bucks County Community College’s AACHIEVE! Program, which assists students with autism transition into both 2-year and 4-year schools with the ultimate goal of them earning a degree and finding employment. But we’re not done yet. This issue also features The Hispanic Council at Cuyahoga Community College (now celebrating its 25th year), as well as the “Degree with a Guarantee” program, a California community colleges initiative that offers two-year students automatic acceptance as juniors at four-year colleges.
