As a result, suspicion arose and a case was filed with the police station. An autopsy revealed that Katumia was first poisoned and then strangled to death. The case started by accusing Karimunnisa. .But after many attempts it was not possible to catch the accused. As a result, a reward was officially announced for Karimunnisa's capture. Ahsan Chowdhury of Dakshinbhag village of Bhadeswar Pargana of Golapganj Police Station was then the Inspector of Sunamganj Police Station .
