Broadway Producer Ken Davenport (author of the popular blog, The Producer's Perspective) & Davenport Theatrical present the second annual Davenport Songwriting Contest! 10 songs competed for the title of 'Best Song' and a $500 Grand Prize. All finalists received a cash prize of $50. The evening was hosted by Playbill.com's Michael Gioia.

The audience and a panel of ­­industry guest judges chose the winner. Joining Tony Award Winning Producer Ken Davenport (The Visit, It's Only A Play, Kinky Boots) at the judge's table were Abigail Katz (director of New Play Development at Atlantic Theater Company), Tony-nominated director and choreographer Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones, Xanadu) and Ross Weiner (Theatrical Writers' department at Paradigm Talent Agency). The contest was held at the Davenport Theatre (www.davenporttheatre.com) April 30th at 7pm.
