"The Pocket Seed" Debut Performance

Описание к видео "The Pocket Seed" Debut Performance

During the 2020 quarantine of Covid-19, I would often go on walks to keep up with some exercise. During these walks, I would see all kinds of seeds all over the trail: hickory nuts, acorns, maple helicopters. On occasion, I would pick these up and put them in my pocket to take home and try to grow. "The Pocket Seed" tells the story of one of these seeds on the surface, but includes depictions of lost friendship and longing to reconnect.

This performance comes from the Spring 2023 East Central College Choir concert, featuring the East Central College Choir conducted by Dr. Timothy Sexton with vocal soloist Joshua Liebhart and piano accompanist Naomi Joyce.

The words and music to this piece were written by Stephen Casey.
