In Season 15, Episode 3 of Shark Tank, Blaine Anderson entered the Tank with big dreams and bold confidence. She pitched her dating coaching business, Dating by Blaine, asking for a $100,000 investment in exchange for just 2% ownership — valuing her company at $5 million.

Dating by Blaine helps men become better at texting, dating, and building real relationships. With online courses like the Dating Masterclass ($1,295), a texting class ($149), and one-on-one coaching ($6,295), Blaine turned her pandemic side hustle into a $2.2 million business.

On the show, Blaine impressed the Sharks with her story, her sales, and her mission. In the end, Mark Cuban offered $100,000 for 10%, and Blaine accepted.

But here’s the twist...

After the episode aired, sales exploded - and so did Blaine’s fame. She was featured in Forbes, the New York Times, and Psychology Today. However, the deal with Mark Cuban didn’t go through. Blaine later decided not to move forward, saying that outside investors could make things harder for her business.
