Seaboard System [the S in CSX] and its subsidiaries

Описание к видео Seaboard System [the S in CSX] and its subsidiaries

Seaboard System was a southern giant comprised of Seaboard Coast Line, Louisville and Nashville, and the Clinchfield railroads. It was a system of great traffic diversity and stretched from Louisiana to Chicago, and up the east coast into Richmond. Chessie System and Seaboard worked well together since many of their lines did not overlap each other. CSX was officially underway in 1986 though the merger was 1982, but the railroads still operated separately. CSX unfortunately is in major upheaval due to management changes and is currently a mess. One can only hope they get acting like they want to run trains again!
