There were some points I forgot to mention in the video for those who may not be familiar with my system. There is a spring that flows all year 270 feet in elevation higher up the hill that I have funneled into a 55 gallon barrel. About 25 gallons of the barrel is usable as a buffer. The spring is constantly filling the barrel. When the buffer is drained the spring isn't able to keep the 800 feet of pipe filled and so the pipe drains down reducing the pressure. This system will allow the buffer to fill up while the valve is closed to build up pressure. The buffered water can then be pushed through the sprinkler to water the large area that is my freshly seeded yard.

This system can be easily controlled by a more complicated controller like a 555 timer/arduino/pi/electro-mechanical or others.
