Описание к видео Data Sharing Architecture as a Foundational Framework for Digital Trade - Jun 2021

Data underpins all digital technologies, and data-using applications of emerging technologies, such Artificial Intelligence (AI), are projected to reach a value of USD13 trillion by 2030. The development of innovative products and services by governments and businesses is not only necessary, but underpins the digital economy—including digital trade. Recognizing the importance of data as the key element empowering a wider adoption of digital solutions and technologies, stakeholders across private and public sectors now seek opportunities to share and more effectively commoditize data, adding a fundamental dimension to digital trade beyond the constraints of material products and services.

As data sharing initiatives emerge to respond to this growing demand for data, it is increasingly vital for governments to implement regulatory infrastructures to facilitate the exchange of data both domestically and across borders. For ASEAN as a whole, its increasingly important that these data governance frameworks leverage international best practices.

The adoption of internationally recognized standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 38505-1 will articulate common requirements, specifications and guidelines for the use, storage, and transfer of data. Adoption of these, and other emerging standards such as ISO/IEC 27701 will lay the foundations for a data economy couched in transparency, reliability, and interoperability, and service the inevitable expansion of data as a constituent element of digital trade.

This 90-minute session brings together experts representing government, industry and academia to discuss the impact of standards on data sharing, and their wider relevance to digital trade. This event is organised and supported by TRPC and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) as part of the Australian Government funded ASEAN-Australia Digital Trade Standards Initiative.

Speakers:

Peter Lovelock, Director and Founder, TRPC
Marcus Bartley Johns, Regional Director for Government Affairs and Public Policy (Asia), Microsoft
Bernadine Fernz, Head of Infrastructure, Open Contracting Partnership
Aradhna Sharma, Digital & Data Solutions Director SEA, Advance.AI
Ir. Dr. Karl Ng, Director of Data Ecosystem Development Division, MDEC (Malaysia)
