In this video, I am sharing the complete Photo Diode Light Sensor Circuit using TIP41C transistor, Photo Diode, LED, Buzzer, and resistors.
This project automatically detects light using a Photo Diode and instantly turns ON the LED or Buzzer when light falls on the sensor.
The system is very sensitive, fast, and works perfectly in any light detection experiment.

This is a perfect and easy DIY project for beginners, students, and electronics lovers.

🔧 Components Used

Photo Diode

TIP41C Transistor

10K Resistor

220Ω Resistor

LED

Buzzer

Battery Supply

Jumper Wires

Breadboard / PCB


🔌 Circuit Connections (Simple & Easy)

Photo Diode → Transistor Base Input (via 10K Resistor)

LED → Collector Output

Buzzer → LED Output (optional)

220Ω Resistor → LED Protection

Battery + → Circuit Positive

Battery – → All Grounds

TIP41C → Base, Collector, Emitter standard wiring

⚙️ How This Project Works?

This light sensor system uses a Photo Diode to detect even the smallest amount of light.
When light hits the photo diode, its resistance drops and it sends a small signal to the TIP41C transistor.
The TIP41C amplifies this tiny signal and instantly switches ON the LED or buzzer.
When light is removed, the LED/buzzer turns OFF immediately.
