Josh explains that decentralized blockchain networks are composed of global communities with people from all over the world, which can make regulation potentially challenging.
However, the fact that smart contracts and blockchains are transparent (and have open code) may ease this process.

While there are exploits and issues that occur, the industry will mature quickly — and will likely continue to develop standardized best practices to reduce risk. While personal responsibility is key when it comes to DeFi, and there are big risks, the overall growth of the industry is practically unstoppable.
