The game decided that the Dawn Brigade needs a challenge and the only way to do that was to put Micaiah behind bars.

Welcome to "New Choice", my horrible new kind of challenge run in which any of my decisions can be vetoed at random.

TL;DR Rules:
New Choice - Whenever I confirm an action, there is a 15% chance that my choice will just get rejected and I have to come up with something new. Some crucial actions, like Wait or Seize, cannot be New Choiced - but most other things are fair game. The exact way I define a "new choice" is detailed in the pastebin above, though I tried to just keep the rules simple and intuitive - the guidelines are just there to have all the little nuances codified in advance.

Given that so much of the challenge for this run comes from the best laid plans being openly rejected, and RD Maniac is already decently tough, I'll be using external resource extensively for information like reinforcement timings or enemy AI behaviors.

Soft Iron Man - The run does not end entirely if we get a game over, but there is otherwise no resetting allowed. I'm playing on Maniac Mode with the patch that reintroduces the weapon triangle and enemy ranges. I haven't decided what the penalty for a Game Over will be yet, but I'll be keeping a running count of my failures as we go. I'm considering maybe imposing some restriction on my endgame deployments or resource allocation based on how many resets I've accrued by the time we reach the final act, but I'll leave it open-ended for now. Let me know if you have any ideas!
