Sub Dome Half Dome Virtual Hike Up | POV

Skip the permit, the long drive, the physical toll, and the early mornings. Let me take you on the trip to Yosemite's Half Dome and experience one of the most iconic hikes in the United States.

I will cover every step* of this rewarding journey from the Permit Check via the Sub Dome, up the famous Half Dome Cables, to the top of the Half Dome.

I won the 2-day permit lottery to hike the Half Dome in July 2022, and managed to hike on a clear beautiful day.

The permit is checked by a Ranger at 7 miles and 4000 feet climb from the parking lot. This video covers the distance from seeing the Ranger to the top of the Half Dome minus all the time waiting to get up the cables.

Expect the full hike to take 8-12 hours. Bring plenty of water (3L+) and do not attempt if you have a fear of heights...
