Baikonur, my hometown.

Better known by its nickname of Space City, Baikonur usually brings to mind towering rockets and space heroes. It has seen triumphs and disasters, firsts and lasts, and adversaries go from enemies to allies.

But sometimes, we forget that behind it all lies a town, filled with ordinary men and women. It’s a quiet and peaceful place (except during a launch of course!), an oasis in the middle of the Steppe filled with good-hearted people.
