All living organisms are autopoietic and cognitive. Autopoiesis refers to a system with well-defined identity and is capable of reproducing and maintaining itself. Cognition, on the other hand, is the ability to process information, apply knowledge, and change the circumstance. This video provides a framework using General Theory of Information (GTI) to design a new class of autopoietic and cognitive machines which the current half-brained AI can not implement using the general purpose computers limited by the Church-Turing thesis boundaries.
