Replacing the sata port from a Blu Ray PC drive (Samsung SH-B083) with a sata port from a 2.5" HDD.

I have an old Blu Ray PC drive (Samsung SH-B083) from 2010 with a damaged sata port. I have plugged it in upside down too many times, so I thought i'd replace the port so it doesn't happen again. I also wanted to see if it was possible to do something that isn't conventional, and that is to replace the sata port from a device that is completely different.
