Sir Spilsbury made significant contributions to forensic science, establishing himself as a key figure in the field. He worked on notable cases such as Hawley Crippen, the Seddon case, Major Armstrong poisoning, George Joseph Smith, the Mahon Crumbles murders, the Podmore case, Sidney Harry Fox's matricide, the Vera Page case, Norman Thorne, Donald Merrett, Alfred Rouse, Elvira Barney, Toni Mancini, and Gordon Cummins. His last two cases involved Mrs. Cecil Cornock, who was accused of murdering her husband in December 1946, and the murder of Alec de Antiquis in 1947.
As I mentioned in the video, if I included every case he worked on, including any controversy, it would have taken much longer to cover. I also noted that he had made mistakes. Some believe that his rising fame, good looks, and strong personality could have influenced the jury. Others claimed his insistence on doing things his own way left them concerned, and possibly played a role as well. The video focuses more on his life than his cases, which was challenging, as he lived very privately.
