The emotionally charged funeral of anti-apartheid icon Winnie Mandela has taken place in her former home in Soweto, with thousands of mourners packing a 40,000-seat stadium to bid farewell to her.   The crammed stadium broke out in cheers and shouts of 'Winnie!' as the casket carrying the woman know as the 'Mother of the Nation' was brought in slowly for her official farewell. The funeral was the highest level that South Africa accords fro someone who was not a head of state. Winnie Mandela died on April 2 aged 81.
