Advanced WCS Pattern Breakdown: Jesse Lopez

Since Jesse recently visited us in Boulder, I decided to use his video to answer the question, "Why can't I see the basics when I watch experienced dancers?"

In this 1 min segment (plus 5 seconds for slowing down one particular pattern) from Liberty Swing, Jesse and Ariel dance 23 patterns of which 19 are "basic patterns" with variations on hand changes, closed to open position, use of posting and connection point changes. ONLY 4 of the patterns are more intermediate or not often taught in basic classes.

And, teachers at the Avalon often teach the concepts of hand changes, open to closed, posting, connection point changes and footwork. This means that when you attend class AND practice what you learn, you too can have the skills of an experienced dancer.
