Ada Lovelace is often regarded as the world's first computer programmer. Born in 1815 to renowned poet Lord Byron, her mother tried to force her to learn subjects that were far removed from literature cough cough science!

She was anything but a simple nerd, however, garnering a rebellious reputation that matched her notoriety in the sciences. After working with Charles Babbage on his 'analytical machine', Ada would dream of ways that sound could be composed by a computer-like device, writing down notes that contained the first ever programs.
