Frances Bavier was an American stage and screen actress best known for her role as Aunt Bee Taylor on the classic television series "The Andy Griffith Show" (1960-1968). Born on December 14, 1902, in New York City, Bavier began her acting career on stage in the 1920s and made her film debut in 1951. In addition to her role on "The Andy Griffith Show," Bavier appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout her career, earning critical acclaim for her performances. She retired from acting in 1972 and spent her remaining years in Siler City, North Carolina, where she passed away on December 6, 1989.
