There comes a point where bigger isn’t always better. After taking my MINI to the track with the big turbo, I realized the amount of time you have to wait for the turbo spool back up was not something I was content with. I would have to completely change my driving lines and the throttle response felt ‘dead’. If my engine was a 2.0L, it would probably be a different story, but with my 1.6L, going too big isn’t a good thing.

The build quality on this Borg Warner turbo is so much better than the JMTC turbo. After comparing both parts side by side, it doesn’t surprise me why so many people recommend this turbo as an upgrade. Lorenzo from RPM Powered recommended to me this turbo, so I have him to thank for the advice!!
