Africa is definitely blessed physically with natural resources and an intellectual capital that is second to none if properly harnessed.
Today I am showcasing a traditional outfit from the IGBO tribe in Nigeria. The Igbos in Nigeria predominantly occupy the South Eastern geopolitical zone of the country.
The Igbos are the most industrious tribe in Nigeria with their love for commercial trading taking them to every nook and cranny of the world.
They have a manufacturing prowess that rivals that of the Chinese, which Aba (a manufacturing hub in Abia State) is renowned for.
There a few bad eggs(like every where else in the world) among the Igbos that tend to give them a bad name but that should not take away from the fact they have earned their spot on the map as far as Nigeria in particular and Africa at large is concerned.
I doubt if there is anywhere in the world where you won't find an Igbo trader.
The rich African culture can't be mentioned without mentioning Nigeria and that of the Igbos especially who take special pride in their culture.
As an African in Nigeria, I believe that it is up to us to enlighten the rest of the world about our great African heritage.
Africa can only earn it's spot on the world map to play alongside the western world when we as proud Africans wake up to start telling our stories ourselves.
