Greg Clark, MP and the Commons' Science and Technology Committee talks about how physiologists can get involved with the Committee.

Physiologists and the life sciences and those that work in the area of physiology are at a particularly exciting time, of all of the breakthroughs that are taking place, both in terms of discovery and making them available to men, women and children across the world. I think the area of the life sciences and physiology is replete with some of the best researchers. And it is well known, it involves and includes some important public policy questions from how much is supported with public funds in terms of research, under what circumstances and under what conditions that is granted, to questions of the ethical regulation of research and experiments and indeed, their products. So there is a lot there, and I would hope that through the journals and through The Physiological Society there will be a pretty close dialogue, a conversation, between physiologists and all members of my committee so that we can feel well informed and we can be asking the questions and we can be giving the push to areas that are relevant to members.
