Truck accident cases in Massachusetts. Good afternoon. I'm attorney Neil Burns and today I wanna talk about a particular truck accident that happened on Route 2 in Concord, Massachusetts, not far from the rotary and the state prison. We represented a family that unfortunately the mother of the family, the wife of our client, was killed. It was a wrongful death action.

Because a truck driver was so negligent. He swerved from the right lane to the middle lane to the left lane, went flying through a red light after cars had already gone through in the other direction and rammed into a Toyota Camry and immediately killed our client's wife. And it was a horrible scene, a horrible case.

Unfortunately the insurance company made it worse. They forced us to litigate the case. They forced us to retain an accident reconstruction. And this is after the police had already determined that the driver was negligent. The police had put the driver through criminal proceedings and put him in jail for his actions, but the insurance company and the company that owned the truck was a landscaping company in Acton, Massachusetts, they refused to just say, okay, let's work this out. They refused to do it. So we had to litigate this case every step of the way. We had to take the deposition of the criminal driver in jail. We had to get a court reporter and go to jail and take his deposition. He was represented there by his civil defense attorney.

We were tenacious. We were aggressive. We kept following through. And at some point in time, the insurance company for the truck accident said, all right, we will pay. We'll just pay the whole policy. And at that point we said, no, that's not good enough. This company has made us do so much. And not only that, but they didn't admit fault.

And the owners of the company also said, well, we think that this driver's great. We would hire him again. If he was allowed to be hired. Fortunately the law says he's not allowed to be hired again because of his driving record. So we got private money out of the defendant driver.
