The True Mandalorians were a Mandalorian group of supercommandos who remained loyal to Jaster Mereel, the adoptive father of Jango Fett.
Mereel's reformist ideals for the Mandalorians were met with opposition as are all those who wish to serve justice and morality.
The opposition came from clan Vizsla and their radical splinter group known as the Death Watch.
The True Mandalorians were followers of the Supercommando Codex.
The Codex, like the Canons before it, drew heavily from the Resol'nare, the six central tenets of the Mandalorian culture.
The True Mandalorians believed in Jaster Mereel's ideals for a Mandalorian culture in which honor and decency was valued over the barbarism preferred by Death Watch.
The True Mandalorians whose moral code put them in heated opposition to the Death Watch, battled them in a series of conflicts across the galaxy, that collectively became known as the Mandalorian Civil War.
