Super easy Guanimes con Bacalao | My favorite Puerto Rican dish!

This is a super easy Guanimes con Bacalo Recipe! The ingredient list is below. Not adding measurements because as you can see in the video nothings is really being measured.

Makes about 5-7 Servings
Start boiling a large pot of water with a tbs of olive oil and 2-3 whole garlic cloves
Mix the following ingredients to form the dough

4 cups - All-Purpose Flour
2 cups - warm water (add more as needed)
1/2 cup - cornmeal (optional)
Season with salt

Once the dough is ready section of little pieces and forms little logs. Reference the video for shape.

Put in the prepared boiling water and cook for about 20 mins

Bacalao (Cod Fish)
If you’ve never cooked codfish let me tell you it’s super salty so you have to get rid of some of the salt by boiling it in hot water for about 30 mins drain the water and boil it again with fresh water and drain. This process eliminates the excess salt from the codfish. You can repeat the process 2 or 3 times.

In a separate pot mix the following Ingredients
Olive Oil
Red Onions
Red & Yellow Bell Peppers
Garlic
Cilantro
Sofrito
Bay Leafs
Oregano
Sazon
Cumin
Last but not least mix in your prepped codfish
