👉From 1940 to 1945, during the Second World War, and once more from 1951 to 1955, Sir Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill led the United Kingdom as Prime Minister. He was a British statesman, soldier, and author. He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) from 1900 to 1964, with the exception of the two years between 1922 and 1924. He represented a total of five constituencies. He belonged to the Conservative Party for the majority of his career and served as its leader from 1940 to 1955. He was an economic liberal and an imperialist. From 1904 to 1924, he was a Liberal Party supporter.
