USCG Captains License - What it takes to get it!

we took a little break from working on providence for my sons graduation from HS and orientation for his freshman year at college. so in this video i go over what it takes to get your USCG captains license and the time it takes to get it processed once you have passed your course, passed the USCG exam and completed all the steps for the application.

Elements

19-yrs or older
360 total -8 hour days of sea service time, 90 days in the last 3 years, and number of days required at the 25, 50, or 100 ton master level
Pass a USCG approved course
Pass the USCG captains license exam
Possess or apply for a TWIC card
Have a current CPR/first aid card
Pass a drug test
Have a valid medical certificate
Complete the USCG application
Pay the application fee of $145.00 through pay.gov

Then be patient!!! it can be 2 months to have everything processed if there are no errors.
