We made our Bakkhali trip under the increasing COVID-19 threat during Unlock 3.0.
We are enough fortunate that we could manage a private transport for our Bakkhali trip and this is the best option in this unfavorable situation.
Though there are several ways of reaching this small island of Bay of Bengal. The nearest railway station to Bakkhali is Namkhana and it takes 3hrs to reach Namkhana from Sealdah Junction. Bus services are available from Namkhana to Bakkhali. Bakkhali is well connected through roadways from Kolkata. Regular bus services are also available from Esplanade to Bakkhali. However, the flow of all public transports gets interrupted by the ongoing devastated COVID19 threat.

Bakkhali is situated in the South 24 parganas of West Bengal. If you have very short time in your hand and want to enjoy sea waves , you can add this place to your weekend travel bucket. Bay of Bengal is always refreshing and never disappoints you. If you want you can also visit nearby Frasergunj fish market and sea beach and at the time of returning may put a lunch halt at any Diamond Harbour resort.
