“Emojis have become the hieroglyphics of our time.” Jordan Roschwalb, the Resident Collector at PinTrill hits the nail (or rather pin) on the head with this one. Taking cues from the cultural shift, Roschwalb and his team are turning the social symbols of the day into collectable pins- in turn building a community of collectors. In the same way that a photo can take you back to something, a pin gives a physicality to an event. These objects with meaning become an unspoken mark of distinction- universal badge pin(pointing) their wearing to a crew. As Roschwalb states with more and more life happening URL, the trade of tangible objects gives you a reason to be IRL.
