What are Special Needs Trusts and the Letter of Intent

Описание к видео What are Special Needs Trusts and the Letter of Intent

Have you heard about special needs trusts and the letter of intent, and wondered what they are and if your family and loved one with a disability could benefit from having them as part of your special needs financial plan?

A special needs trust (SNT) allows for a person with a disability to maintain their eligibility for public assistance benefits, despite having assets that would otherwise make the person ineligible for those benefits. The letter of intent is a document that provides guidance and instructions regarding the care and well-being of an individual with special needs.

Please join Ken Prodger and Scott Gill of Special Needs Planning Group as they discuss:
– The differences between a first party, third party, and pooled special needs trusts
– The rules around special needs trust and how to set one up
– How the letter of intent fits into life care planning

This is a Connections California event, a project of Parents Helping Parents – Silicon Valley. Connections California is in part sponsored by the San Andreas Regional Center and the California Department of Developmental Services.
