GUERLAIN | When Material Becomes Art: An Interview with Liu Bolin

One of China’s best-known artists, Liu Bolin’s daring work blends elements of performance, photography and protest. For his groundbreaking first NFT, Liu has created a tunnel of 23 mobile phones, each filming the screen of the next, in a thought-provoking statement on humanity and its future.

The Guerlain art of fragrance owes its existence to the beauty and the power of nature. Yet the issues facing the world we live in today illustrate how precious and threatened the earth's resources have become. Liu’s creation will be sold as part of an exclusive auction in support of Yann Arthus-Bertrand’s new project to sponsor the creation of an innovative garden. The proceeds of the sale will finance a fully self-sustainable laboratory-garden and a 28-hectare biodiversity reserve. The auction will take place from October 21st to November 15th 2021.
