The verdict delivered by the Tribunal in Abdul Quader Molla's case is completely politically influenced and according to the government's wish.

This verdict reflects what the government MPs, ministers, and other leaders have long been saying publicly. This verdict only serves to judicially legitimize a political punishment and a mere proclamation of what was predetermined.

Human rights organizations, national and international lawyers, and the United Nations have raised serious questions regarding the validity of the procedure and the tribunal. All of these bodies have clearly and officially stated that the trials do not conform to international standards. But the government stubbornly chose to disregard all of these opinions and stage the mockery of trial.

The conspiracy and political ill will behind these trials were exposed by the leaked Skype conversations. The court proceedings were conducted according to what was discussed over Skype including which case to conclude first, which will come later, and which witness will give what statement. Abdul Quader Molla's case is no exception and its fate was predefined as well.

The concluding arguments for Mr. Molla's case were completed on 17 January. Now we have the verdict which took only 18 days to fully prepare. The summarized version of the judgment had already shown that the government influenced the outcome of the judgment according to its wishes.
