IMPROVISING ON MODAL TUNES PART 2 Jazz Tactics #8

Описание к видео IMPROVISING ON MODAL TUNES PART 2 Jazz Tactics #8

The second of two episodes about improvising on modal tunes focuses on how to craft a melodic line over static harmony. It emphasizes the importance of understanding how to create a diatonic melody using a ‘diadic’ approach—great melodies don’t need to be and rarely are harmonically complex--and follows with a demonstration of the use of the minor pentatonic, blues and dominant bebop scales over the modal chord changes for Impressions or So What.
