With funding from the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation at Brigham and Women's Hospita, Stepping Strong Innovator Award winner Su Ryon Shin, PhD, in collaboration with Shabir Hassan, PhD, members of the Shin Lab, and Deland Fellow Sherry Yu, MD, are creating 3D printed face shields for frontline workers at the Brigham. Each shield takes 3.5 hours to make. They are totally reusable, can be sanitized as many times as needed, and have better protection properties than other printed face shields in the market.
