Wine Tour at the village of Rapsani Greece - Griechenland

We have been invited by Nikos and experienced another perfect day in Rapsani, Greece.
Rapsani is a coastal appellation on the southern foothills of Mount Olympus, the home of the gods in Greek mythology.
The mountainous, sunny terroir in this part of Thessalia is well suited to the production of red wine.

The range of altitude in Rapsani means that grapes on different parts of the slopes ripen at different rates. As a result, the harvest (which usually begins at the beginning of September) is staggered, and can sometimes last as long as a month. This provides winemakers with a wide range of flavor profiles to choose from when blending the final wines.
