OST-0024 Lower Bearing Carrier Removal Yamaha F25 Gears

Tyler Holland, Outboard Specialty Tools, diagnosing a Yamaha F25 slipping out of reverse gear. Carrier removed with OST-0024 Lower Bearing Carrier Puller on a very corroded 2012 gear case. Already removed shift rod and unbolted the lower carrier retaining nuts. Pulling the carrier to inspect pinion/gear set and clutch dog. Found heavy wear on clutch dog and reverse gear leading edges where the two pieces mesh together during reverse shift. This failure is common on this type of gear case, is also very common on larger HP, specifically F150 where this type of damage shows up as gear chatter going into forward and reverse, caused by shifting into gear too slowly
