Making Roubo's Polissoir

In this video I build a copy of Roubo's Polissoir. This is a burnishing tool that compresses the wood fibers and leaves the piece glassy smooth. It especially excels at applying wax to a finished surface. I tested it by burnishing a piece of walnut scrap. I did not apply any additional wax and the surface was straight from the saw. Déchiquetez votre papier de verre! (or however you say "shred your sandpaper" someone can correct my French in the comments.)
