1000 Trees—also known as Tian’an 1000 Trees—is an eco-lifestyle shopping center designed by London-based Heatherwick Studio. Some highlights:
Designed to evoke a “forest-capped mountain” emerging from the Suzhou Creek waterfront, the center features hundreds of concrete columns each planted with lush vegetation, blurring the boundaries between architecture and nature.
It occupies roughly 15 acres, perched on a bend in Suzhou Creek, adjacent to the M50 art district.

The first phase, already complete, includes shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries, public spaces, and even integrates a nearby heritage structure and park.
Inside, expect a vibrant mix: a basement food court and supermarket, five levels of retail shops, and multiple floors dedicated to dining and art displays.
It’s more than a mall—it’s a destination for shopping, art appreciation, architecture, and photography. Many visitors praise its photogenic look, especially during evening illumination or along the riverbank.
