Did you know that Jo Malone has a line of perfumes at Zara? Here’s my review and wear test for all five perfumes in the Jo Malone Silent Flowers collection.

Petale D’Ambre in three words: bitter herbal patchouli. Almost instantly, I get hit with a spicy patchouli with lavender and nutmeg. There’s also a leathery note, but that could be the ambergris. This gives it a burnt rubber edge. This perfume leans very masculine.

After about 10 minutes, the lavender gets more pronounced and the I get a little bit of rose. The patchouli takes a back seat, so it’s less intense but still leathery. It closes with sandalwood.
Petale D’Ambre projects for about 9 hours, then lingers as a skin scent. For me, it was a 4 out of 10 and my least favorite in this collection.

Romance D’Iris in three words: powdery rice pudding. At the first spray, I get a delicious blast of bitter, slightly sweet rice with some indistinguishable green and citrus notes in the background. As it settles, it becomes a powdery violet with a lipsticky vibe, probably from the iris. It dries down to a powdery musky scent.

Longevity is mid, lasting about five hours. After two hours, it becomes a skin scent, but eventually disappears into nothing. I liked this scent – I’ll give it a 6 out of 10.

Balade De Figuier in three words: fruity herbal tobacco. A fresh burst of citrus, grapefruit dominant arrives at the first spray. Within five minutes, the peppery tobacco takes center stage. I’m not familiar with fig notes, but this tobacco comes with sort of fruit. I also detect a fresh plant, herbal note. This has a masculine quality and is absolutely unisex. I think Balade De Figuier will be the crowd-pleaser in this collection. On me, it lasts about six hours with very little sillage. I’ll give this an 8 out of 10.

Parfait D’Orchidee in three words: lipstick vanilla ginger. If you know Zara perfumes, you’ll be very familiar with this scent profile. This reminds me of Vanilla Violet Orchid from the Orchid Collection in spring 2023 & Vanilla Vibration from this fall’s vanilla collection. This is a warm, delicious vanilla scent with a little bit of powdery florals and ginger. At first spray, I detect some cardamom, which is becoming one of my favorite fragrance notes. With that said, Parfait D’Orchidee remains a thick, musky vanilla ginger. There’s not much floral, just a hint of lipstick iris. It lasts about six hours on me before becoming a skin scent. I rate this a 6.5 out of 10.

Brulante Violette in three words: watery earthy violet. This is a musky, clean, woody fragrance that reminds me of the famous Gloss U perfume. At the first spray, I get a mix of floral notes, which settle into a green, borderline dirt-like vibe. The distinctive iris note supports the violet, but never gets very powdery. It doesn’t take too long to get to the woody, musky notes. Brulante Violette is never sweet, nor is it overpowering, which makes it perfect for work. Unfortunately, the longevity is poor, only lasting about two hours on me. A shame because this is my favorite fragrance in this collection. This gets a 7.5 out of 10.
