Описание к видео Chris Bryant On 'Pestminster' And Why Nadine Dorries Must Go | Good Morning Britain

As Chair of the Committees on Standards and Privileges, Chris Bryant has had a front row seat for the battle over standards in parliament. This week he called for Nadine Dorris to be forced out of parliament for failing to attend for six months. Ms Dorries said she was standing down as the MP for Mid Bedfordshire in June but later said she would not formally resign until she got more information about why she was denied a peerage. She has not spoken in the Commons since July 2022 and last voted in April. Six months on from her last vote in Parliament would be 26 October. In his new book, Code of Conduct, Mr Bryant reflects on a period in British politics which has had the highest turnover of prime ministers and the most MPs ejected for breaking the rules. He reveals that he has been sexually assaulted five times in parliament during his career. The book looks at what happened to standards in public life and what we need to do to get them back.
