Melancolia by Rodrigo Riera

Melancolia from Four Venezuelan Pieces by Rodrigo Riera is the 5th in a series of 30 records of my Summer Project 2022. The first 20, I did it while traveling to Switzerland and Hong Kong. The last 10, I finished at home with the same equipments. The recordings were recorded with a single Hypemic by Apogee, an iPhone 13 Pro, a Frederich Model Guitar by Giovanni Tacchi and a copy of a Stauffer guitar from the Hanson’s Guitar workshop. I had very poor acoustic condition in my made do recording studios. To cut down the brightness and flutter in the room, sometimes I put a Guitar Protector/Sleeve over the guitar, which worked up to a certain point. I was going to redo all the recordings once I got home but looking at the scale of the project, it’s simply unrealistic. The recordings are completely unedited with a little bit of mixing to get the nasty acoustic out of some of the recordings. Oh, a little reverb too.
