A New Charter School with an AI and Data Science Curriculum Opens in Kalihi

Kūlia Academy, Hawaiʻi’s newest charter school dedicated to shaping the future of its students through its innovative 7-year Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science curriculum, recently opened its doors in Kalihi. The school welcomed its inaugural class of 100 eager sixth graders, all ready to embark on their educational journey.

The new charter school is a Data Science and Artificial Intelligence-focused, project-based learning public school serving students from around the island.

In the classrooms, students explore coding, electronics, and drone programming, turning theoretical knowledge into practical skills. Virtual reality headsets transform the learning environment, allowing students to engage in immersive lessons that span from history to the sciences, offering a glimpse into worlds far beyond the confines of a traditional classroom.
