FLOATING Glass Shelves with LED LIGHTING!!!

Our customer was looking for a minimalist design for floating shelves, so we came up with these custom metal supports with glass shelves. Of course we had to light them with dimmable LED strip lighting! This one of those projects that took way more time, thinking, and planning that one would assume. We had custom metal holders made to mount the glass into. This metal was welded and left rough, as to match the steel I-beam supports that are in the living room. We then used 1/4" tempered glass that was also custom cut from our glass supplier (Cardinal Glass). The LED strip lighting we used was purchased from FlexFireLEDs.com. They are a great resource for the 12v dimmable transformer and LED light strips that draw 3 watts per foot. Since we had about 17 feet of lighting we used a 60 watt transformer.
