Insurrection - Trivium guitar cover | Dean MKH ML

Thanks for stopping by. Its finally time for another Shogun track and one of the first I ever learned. I filmed the rhythm guitars in early September and the solos in late November due to wanting to tackle other songs first.

I noticed long after recording the rhythm guitars that during the main riff the octave is played for a few notes. It's not very noticeable on the album version but you can see Corey play it on the Deepest Cuts Part II livestream. I felt the song would be incomplete without this small detail so I added that in later when I did the solos.

Its hard to figure out and see exactly what Corey is doing for the tapping part of his solo but from live performances and the Shogun making of DVD where he is practising a similar sounding solo this is what I could decipher and conjure up. As with Matt's he never uses the whammy bar in live footage but on the record I'm certain that's how he's playing it. Theres also what sounds like a tapping lick at the end playing under the 3 string swept arpeggios.
