FFT Spectrum Analyzer Analysis of Vacuum Tube Amplifiers

Описание к видео FFT Spectrum Analyzer Analysis of Vacuum Tube Amplifiers

Careful observation and time displacement measurements of the spurs within a FFT spectral display of an audio signal reveals the spurs are at 60 Hz and 120 Hz intervals indicating that some are caused by the full wave power supply ripple and other by the 60Hz filament supply or other line frequency sources. Mitigating most of the 60Hz spurs was done with the hum pot adjustment, the 120 Hz spurs were dramatically lowered by increased power supply capacitance and lastly some very stubborn 120 Hz spurs were eliminated by changing the voltage amplifier tubes (the 6SN7's) to vintage tubes.
