Arkansas Deer Hunting Fall 2015 - Mount Magazine WMA "No Big Buck Yet"

Mount Magazine WMA takes up a portion of the Southern stretch of the Ozark National Forest in Arkansas. There are many things to do around this area, such as camping, hiking, fishing, waterfalls exploring, sight seeing along the scenic drive, and of course hunting during hunting seasons.

I love Fall foliage at Mount Magazine area, but if you are into deer hunting, nothing can get better than sitting up high in a treestand and watch Fall colors while waiting for the deer at the same time.

Since the opening of archery deer season, we have been to this same spot at Mount Magazine WMA two weekends in the row (Oct 31 & Nov 6), and we have seen deer both times while we were there. But what more exciting is that last weekend was my first time ever experiencing the chasing activities of the rut at this spot after three years of deer hunting. This very same spot was also the place where I harvested my first deer, a 9 point buck. So we know there are bigger deer around, but just a matter of time that they will cross our paths. We will be back here for rifle season on November 14, and hopefully big guys will show up.
