1348 - I survived the plague
But all my family died
Half of the city has deceased and was buried
So far away from where we lived
Their corpses weren’t buried in the cemetery
But in deep and big holes called mass graves

My wife, son and parents died
They went thrown into the hole
Together with dozens of dead
The Priest said in burial
Dies Irae, It’s the day of Wrath
Woe to you who don’t believe in God
The pestilence is the divine punishment
Because our lack of faith

The pile of corpses grew
And feudal lord’s greed

People were getting sick and dying
We couldn’t stop working during the harvest
Because we wouldn’t have food in the winter
And we would lose our homes and lands

From 1346 to 1353
The Plague devastated Western Eurasia,
Europe and North Africa
Killing between 75 and 200 millions of people

Since 2020, Covid-19 has killed
7 millions of people
And it is still contaminating and
Killing people around the world

The plague ended ten years ago
Today I live far from the city
And every cursed day I ask myself
Why am I still alive?

Bubonic plague, Influenza, Covid-19…

It doesn't matter which one it was
Or which will be the disease
Man will die for the greed of
Political and religious leaders too

I don’t know if there is a god
A creator that kills his own creation
What is the meaning of life?
What do we live for?
