How to degree a camshaft...SBC Race Engine

Here is the process I used when degreeing my camshaft in the race car engine. Need to usually do it several times, to make sure I get consistent readings. Getting the dial indicator in the same spot every time is very important, as is looking at the degree wheel. A bigger degree wheel will allow more precise numbers for sure! When I retarded the cam, it looked like 2 degrees on the belt drive, but was not quite that much when I looked at it closer. But when I checked how much it racially retarded, it was less than a degree. Hmmm, interesting.
