Saving an ancient Assyrian language through calligraphy

Описание к видео Saving an ancient Assyrian language through calligraphy

Bethkustan, also known as Alagoz, is an Assyrian village in Mardin, an old Turkish city where diverse cultures and ethnicities meet. Over the years their numbers have dwindled, but one priest is using his calligraphy skills to keep the language alive.

Correction: Assyrians in Turkey call themselves Syriacs and speak the Syriac language. They are also connected to the Syriac Orthodox church.
